Abeka Mantse Agboona Health Screening

In a significant step toward improving community health and wellbeing, Sue Health Foundation, in collaboration with key healthcare partners, successfully organised a Free Community Health Screening Program on Saturday, 11th April 2026, at Abeka Mantse Agboona, Accra. The event attracted a large number of residents from Abeka and surrounding communities, all eager to take proactive steps toward better health.

This impactful initiative was made possible through strategic partnerships with Sonotech Medical & Diagnostic Center, Ghana HIV & AIDS Network, Reavley Chemist Ghana, and Tuffour Wellness Clinic, with additional support from Donel Cleaning and Laundry Services and Luxe Marina Cleaning Services. The collective expertise and resources of these organisations ensured the delivery of high-quality, accessible healthcare services to all participants.

The screening program provided a wide range of essential medical services aimed at early detection and prevention of common health conditions. Hundreds of individuals benefited from free testing and professional consultations, including:

The health screening exercise delivered immediate and long-term value to participants. Many individuals discovered underlying health conditions for the first time and were promptly advised on next steps, including lifestyle adjustments, further medical evaluation, or treatment options.

Beyond diagnosis, the event served as a powerful educational platform. Healthcare professionals engaged participants with practical guidance on nutrition, hygiene, disease prevention, and overall wellness. This knowledge empowers individuals to make informed health decisions and adopt healthier lifestyles.

The initiative also helped to reduce barriers to healthcare access, particularly for individuals who may not routinely visit medical facilities due to cost or limited awareness. By bringing essential services directly into the community at no cost, the program significantly improved health accessibility and encouraged a culture of preventive care.

One of the most profound outcomes of the event was the heightened awareness around preventive healthcare. Participants gained a deeper understanding of the importance of routine health checks and early intervention. This shift in mindset is critical in reducing the long-term burden of chronic diseases within communities.

The presence of experienced healthcare professionals also fostered trust and confidence, encouraging many attendees to prioritise regular medical check-ups moving forward.

The success of this initiative underscores the unwavering commitment of Sue Health Foundation and its partners to building healthier communities. By addressing both immediate health needs and long-term awareness, the program has laid a strong foundation for sustained public health improvement.

Events like this demonstrate that impactful change is possible when organisations collaborate with a shared vision of accessible and equitable healthcare for all.

Following the success of the April screening, there is strong anticipation for future outreach programs that will expand access to healthcare services across more communities. The Sue Health Foundation remains dedicated to continuing its mission of promoting health, preventing disease, and empowering individuals with the knowledge and resources needed to live healthier lives.
